NO I don't think you do. I have come to think that spirituality is in you. How do you treat your fellow man? Do you prejudge others? Or do you accept them as they are. When I came to the conclusion that "the truth" was not the truth at all I began to pray to God show me the way, show me that the org is right or show me that there is something else. I may as well have been talking to my bedpost for all of the answers I received from God. I am not a bad person I have never in my life intentionally hurt anyone except to follow the Watchtowers hurtful positions as an elder. So I plan to continue for the rest of my life to be a good person towards my fellow man. I do not hate JWs I love them there are so many fine people in, just misguided " Captives of A Concept" to quote Don Cameron, but I do hate the religion of hate The Watchtower. Just my two cent's By the way Foodhalls I enjoyed the videos that you turned us on to.

DO WE NEED TO BELONG TO A RELIGION TO BE A "SPIRITUAL PERSON"?
by foodalls ini have been noticing people posting on this site have a "deep" spiritual desire, but don't quite know how to find it, or where it is at.. this beg the question...do we need to be involved with a "religion" to find "spirituality"...especially an "organized religion"???.
anyone that has there eyes open can see that all religion is loosing their influence over people around the world...i spent 47 years thinking i was in the "truth" being one of jw's!
and now that i am out...and looking back from the "outside"...all i see is that its just another religion...filled with all the "control-grid" stuff found in any other group.. worse yet...they are worse than other religions...so it begs an answer..is there such thing as a "true religion"???.

*Seriously* Considering A Billboard Ad?
by laverite ina full billboard ad in my area along a busy heavily travelled highway would cost about $500.
would probably get lots of attention and maybe even a news article, who knows.
$500 is cheap and easily affordable.

Go for it! I can see that we are all behind you. It would be awesome to get some information out to the public regarding the mistreatment of people that want to leave the Watchtower. Disfellowshipping is disgusting and causes so much pain to familys just because some do not want to follow their way of life anymore. Let the information come out!!!!!!

Can anyone here SEE the "Run-Away Freight train" about to "Blind-Side" the WTBTS???
by foodalls ini just got off listening to the the tape about the teh bethlelite brothers and the case a member of the anointed has filed against a congregation about an illegal disfellowshiping...and both of these "brothers" have set this organization for a very hard fall!
but!...thats not what i see from what o got from these tapes....but it will be a big contributing factor (i actually feel sorry for those poor "ignorant" elders who will be left to "flap-in-the-wind" over this!!!
)..but its what ii know is comig about all religion that know for a fact!!!

I have been reading alot of posts here lately. One recurring theme seems to be problems with our mates that are still in. So I thought perhaps we could put our thoughts together in a organized manner. Most of us seem to be males with wives that will not see what we have seen about the borg. But I am sure that there are many women too men we are not alone in this. So maybe we can help each other
Me first I guess. I have explained most things I have learned to my wife so she knows how I really feel but it goes right over her head die hard witness don't ya know. You see we love each other very much but I have ruined her dream of living together forever. So though she knows I think it is all bs she keeps her mouth shut. I have told her that I will wait it out and see if anything they say comes true. But I am playing the cards my way. We read and study together I slip in now and then some old literature last week it was the proclaimers book showing her something that was posted here last week didn't say too much but I saw the lights come on. I do not fight with her no matter what! I attend some meetings but really never join in tough for a former elder. I go on my terms not hers. I have a number of things that I do at the meetings to keep my mind busy so that I don't throw up. These include frequent trips to the bathroom im old ya know! Ha Ha, reading and I have mastered the art of turning my mind off and thinking about other things with out letting on too much. Daydreaming at night I guess you could call it. And durring those trips to the bathroom frequent use of my smart phone I even read this forum at the KH ( bad man). Some day I will get her out but I realize it will take time. These things usually keep me sane. So these are some of my tricks what say you ? Do you have anything that we all can use.

New Board members within the last 1 year.....
by stuckinamovement ini can't believe the amount of new posters this board is getting.
it seems as if every day there are at least 2 to 3.. if you are a new poster, what made you decide to stop lurking and start posting?
how many of us are there that have joined in the last year?.

"To verdener" - "Worlds apart" thread
by DagothUr ini have just seen the movie.
it's very accurate when describing the jw lifestyle and convictions, even their clothes and hairstyle.
but a bearded elder with a rather long hair???

I agree with ms. I have known european elders that have beards. And the no tie thing and casual clothes, remember they were called in in a moments time which I have done myself. Sometimes there was no time to change clothes. Remember the father was an elder previously. Those were his friends and they say this as an emergency meeting. Seems very real to me.

A few questions for lurking active elders, former elders & MS
by onemore inhere they go.... 1) let say that you were a sincere believer of the watchtower, and fallowed the gbs direction because you truly believed that they were guided by the holy spirit.
what information or action would have made you doubt the validity & authority of the governing body?
2) what type of information would have made you reconsider your position as an executioner of the gb rules & regulations?

1) Let say that you were a sincere believer of the Watchtower, and fallowed the GB’s direction because you truly believed that they were guided by the Holy Spirit. What information would have made you doubt the validity & authority of the Governing Body?
Really nothing for many years I carried out their deeds when I finally woke up a few years ago I was shocked at what I had done.
2) What type of information would have made you reconsider your position as an executioner of the GB rules & regulations?
What made me reconsider is some things happening in the org.
I then began to look around first at 607 and then more. At 607 I was convinced.
3) As an active elder, was there anything that would have made you believed that the GB has been corrupted and perhaps infiltrated by Satan?
Over the years I saw and heard things from cos dos and other prominent elders that made me think, but it took the research and the strength to do it to get me thinking then reading CofC.
4) Let say you had some serious doubts and experiencing a “crisis of conscience”, if you knew that there would be no retaliation such as getting dissfellowshipped; would you have mastered the courage to speak up and search for the truth? I was always one to speak up but was afraid of doing too much.
5) If you knew the implications of being an “independent agent”, would you have resigned or stopped fallowing all of the GB’s orders?
I did!!!!
